Retired medical practitioner Vasil Velkov calls for a big dose of self-discipline to beat COVID-19

The generation most affected by the coronavirus are people aged over 70 as well as those with pre-existing conditions. Among the latest measures for their protection are strict guidelines for self-isolation, introduced to reduce the chances of infection. Most older people accept the new measures, but others still have difficulty in understanding the seriousness of the potential consequences, if they do not adhere to the 1.5 meter social distancing rule, self-isolation and regular hand washing with soap. Retired medical practitioner and one-time contributor to SBS Macedonian Dr. Vasil Velkov shares his thoughts on COVID-19.
