Simon Balderstone: An Australian who’s helping build earthquake-resistant schools in Nepal

Ten years after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, numerous local, national, and international organisations rushed to provide immediate relief. Australian Simon Balderstone, then chairman of the Australian Himalayan Foundation, coordinated the emergency response. He spoke to SBS Nepali about deploying Australian mountaineers to affected areas, rebuilding schools that are still in use today, and the importance of international support during times of crisis.
