Six Nepali women have set a record by successfully climbing Annapurna Himal for the first time

Photojournalist Purnima Shrestha led by Dawa Yangjung Sherpa, Dawa Phuti Sherpa, Sharmila Tamang, Maya Sherpa and Pasang Lamu Sherpa reached the Annapurna peak on Friday afternoon. A total of 68 people had climbed the 8,091-meter-high Annapurna Himal at the same time on Friday. The world's tenth-highest mountain, considered to be the toughest, has so far been climbed by only 300 people, and it has the highest mortality rate among mountaineers at 8,000 meters.
