Indigenous led national crisis support service marks 50,000 calls supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.


13YARN was established in 2022, offering culturally safe and confidential one-on-one support to mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping.

All support workers are Lifeline-trained Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporters and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Recently it was announced that 13YARN has now reached 50,000 calls supporting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, exceeding the demand for what was initially predicted since being established back in 2022.

NITV Radio chats to 13YARN National Manager, Marjorie Anderson about this milestone and how the service is continuing to grow offering support to mob in need.
