In a conversation with NITV Radio, Rebecca McLean, the Mulga Bore Hard Rock band's director and producer shared the story of their epic journey starting from their formation in a remote Central Australian community.
“Mulga Bore Hard Rock are made up of an amazing group of young people. In a way or another they were destined to do music as they all come from one family of musicians,” Rebecca McLean said. "Ever since I met them, they've gone from strength to strength.”
She further stressed that they aren't your average teenage band. Under the leadership of lead singer-songwriter Alvin Manfong the Mulga Bore Hard Rock band perform songs in both English and Anmatyerre. Aged 14 to 19, they blend original hard rock inspired by 70s, 80s, and 90s legends like KISS and Guns N' Roses with their own desert flair.

Ms Mclean also revealed that while touring the country, the band caught the eye of seasoned artists, performers and community leaders including Bunna Lawrie and Kutcha.
"Kutcha Edwards was so impressed with them, he’s become their patron providing them with mentorship and instruments.”
The Mulga Bore Hard Rock band’s upcoming performance in Alice Springs isn't their first one on a big stage. The band has already opened for iconic acts like KISS and No Fixed Address, and graced festivals across Australia from Melbourne to Hobart.
