"Big Name, No Blankets" a rock n' roll theatre show celebrating the legacy of Indigenous Australian music icons, Warumpi Band will be performed at RISING as a flagship performance of their First People First programming from May 31 - June 2.

Presented by Ilbijerri Theatre Company, "Big Name, No Blankets" honours the trailblazing Warumpi Band, known for singing in Aboriginal languages and creating anthems like "Blackfella/Whitefella" and "My Island Home."

The rock 'n' roll extravaganza blends high-energy rock music with storytelling inspired by Warumpi Band's founding member Sammy Tjapanangka Butcher.

In a conversation with NITV Radio Rachael Maza, Ilbijerri Theatre Company’s Artisit Director, explained that the show was created with the Butcher family as a joyful exploration of music's power to unite and inspire hope for reconciliation.
