Gamilaroi and Dunghutti woman Marlee Silva takes a bold look at rugby league’s impact on Australian identity in 'Skin in the Game' - premiering Sunday, 23 March, on NITV, SBS, and SBS On Demand.

As the daughter of league legend Rod “Rocket” Silva, Marlee has lived and breathed the sport, understanding both its power to unite and the darker issues it reflects, particularly around gender and violence. With domestic and family violence a major crisis in Australia.

Featuring key voices from the game, including Phil Gould, Nicho Hynes and NRLW’s Lavinia Gould, the documentary uncovers the history of women in the sport and challenges the league to take responsibility for change.

Skin in the Game is a deeply personal story and investigation into where rugby league has been, how far it has come and what must happen next.
