Afghan Mulas should not campaign for election candidates

Afghan Imams are not allowed to campaign for candidates.


The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs of Afghanistan, informs the Imams of mosques if any of them campaign for parliamentary elections candidate they will face legal proceedings.
According to the ministry spokesman, Ishaq Arab, the mosques are not a campaign location, but places of worship and no mullah imams are allowed to campaign for any candidate using mosques

.
At the same time, the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan said that the campaign for the candidates by government workers, including Mullah Imams, has been against the law.

For the 247 Wolesi Jirga seats there are 2565 candidates from which 417 women are women.
