The problem is hitting particularly hard in migrant and indigenous communities. The report released by the Collective for Action on Obesity presents a grim picture. It has found an additional nine hundred thousand Australians have become obese in the last three years. The situation is particularly bad for the youngest in the community. One in four Australian children are now obese or overweight. That's an increase of sixty percent since the 2011-2012 financial year. Nicole Turner from the Collection for Action on Obesity says the figures show government policy- and spending- on obesity has failed. She says there needs to be more focus on prevention, as opposed to cure. Please listen to the full report in Pashto.
