A 5-year-old girl of Indian appearance who was taken from a day-care facility in Carrara in Queensland has been found safe.
Police in New South Wales has located the girl safe and well with the man who took her from the Birmingham Road facility on Monday afternoon.
The duo was located near Kempsey on the central coast of New South Wales, nearly 400 km from Carrara.
The Queensland Police issued an Amber alert for the five-year-old yesterday after she was taken by a man known to her.
There were no sightings of the duo since the man and the girl were seen leaving the day-care centre at 3:50 pm on Monday. But police believed they were heading towards NSW. The Queensland Police alerted their NSW counterparts.
The police said the girl was believed to be at a significant risk and appealed for urgent public assistance.
The Queensland Police thanked the media and the public and said the investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
