Amrik Singh Thandi is contesting as an independent candidate for the Legislative Council of South Australia.
Thandi told SBS Punjabi that he is running this election for the future of South Australia.
“As a small businessman, I am not only keen to support small businesses but also to drive strategies to create more jobs,” he said.
“It is important that we monitor the governmental policies and make sure that they deliver their election promises.
“I’ve an active standing in the local community. I am involved in taxi industry from last 3 decades. As a former member of Taxi council, I’ve raised numerous issues pertaining to the taxi industry
“I am a longstanding supporter of the multicultural communities.
“As a governing member of United Sikhs of South Australia, I have raised social issues and challenges related to the Sikh identity.
“I’ve always made myself available for projects aimed to promote social cohesion.
South Australians will go to the polls on March 17.
