“Pargat did great deeds for the community but no one came to his aid when he needed it the most including the government officials.

“He is extremely hopeless now and we need your help to get him back on track again."
Within one day of posting an appeal on social media, the community raised the money requested through the fundraiser.
A collection of $5,282 surpassed the goal of $5,000 in just one day of setting this fundraiser.
Mr Sandhu thanked the Punjabi diaspora for their financial contribution.

"We’re very thankful to the people who have financially assisted the family when they needed it the most,” he said.

that Mr Singh - the local 'Crocodile Dundee' had captured at least twelve crocodiles from the deep waters of Jyotisar Heads, near Kurukshetra.

Mr Singh who has no formal training in capturing the beasts said he is always keen and careful.

"I never feared crocodiles. The crocs I captured are as big as 8-10 feet. They target grazing animals.... and the residents are absolutely terrified. I always wanted to help people, such is my mission," said Mr Sandhu in an interview with SBS Punjabi.

Mr Singh also helps to take out dead bodies at Jyotisar Heads.

"This is my mission, as a Sikh, I try to help people in need," he said.

“People want to perform the last rituals of the bodies of their loved ones, and I understand their desperation.

“The professional divers take lakhs of Indian rupees to fish out the dead bodies and I do it for free as a charity. That’s my payback and service to humanity.”

Pargat Singh hails from Dabkheri village in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
