Griffith Gurdwara Turns Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Griffith’s Sikh community has showed their support for breast cancer charity McGrath Foundation with a series of pink light displays on the iconic Gurdwara building.

Griffith local have come forward to turn city pink to show support for the renowned breast cancer charity organisation McGrath Foundation.

The iconic Sikh Gurdwara building is also lighting up with a series of stunning illuminations as arranged by the local Sikh community.

“It is a simple but impressive display. We are amazed to see that a small effort could put you on national picture,” said Manjit Singh Khera who is the treasure of the Griffith Sikh Temple.
“In the last a few days we’ve collected more than 1200$ to help support the charity’s efforts to create a future without breast cancer,” Manjit Singh said in a statement to SBS Radio’s Punjabi Program.
“The local community is coming with big hearts to support fundraiser, which is still ongoing.”

“This Saturday we are inviting people to wear pink and come down and help us raise more money.”

“The stunning pink light display of Gurdwara attracts all locals. Last night, I went there to offer my prayers. I was speechless to see the beauty of the building and also ended up taking some pictures,” said Jagmohan Singh who is regular visitor of the Gurdwara.
“It shows our solidarity with breast cancer patients. It is important to raise awareness and to do fundraisers for a better research to find new ways of conquering the cancer beast,” said Jagmohan Singh.
