An Indian restaurant in the southern suburb of Hilton located within the City of Fremantle in Perth has copped $25,000 fine for a raft of Food Act breaches.
The non-compliance was discovered by health inspectors during a routine inspection of the Curry Club restaurant in December last year.
Pictures released by the council appear to show mouldy chopping boards, solidified grease and rust sitting on the cooking equipment, dirty utensils, slimy drains and water leakage on the floor.According to the , the restaurant fell short on a number of fronts including cleanliness, maintenance, food storage and hand washing facilities.

It also failed to comply with sewage and water disposal standards.SBS Punjabi reached out to the owner of the restaurant, Nilish Dokhe, but he refused to comment.

He had earlier told that he wasn’t present at the restaurant during the inspection but ensured that it was cleaned as per the standards the following day.
Mr Dokhe also admitted that it wasn’t the first time that the restaurant had run into trouble with the Health Department. The business had earlier copped a fine for poor cleaning standards, three years ago, reported the West Australian.Curry Club Indian restaurant is the fourth retailer that has been named and shamed by the City of Fremantle for breaching the Food Act regulations in 2019.
