.Aam Admi Party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal termed as an "eyewash" the special investigation team (SIT) formed by the government of India to probe 1984 anti-Sikh violence in the Indian capital that saw thousands of Sikh killed, and asked India’s prime minister Narendra Modi to allow his government to set up one.
“It is one and a half years and yet, the SIT has made absolutely no progress. SIT failed to open even a single case! Now, apprehension is growing in the minds of the people that this SIT was just an eyewash and you formed an ineffective SIT on February 13, 2015, just two days after our win in Delhi to prevent us from forming an effective SIT,” Kejriwal wrote in a letter to the Indian prime minister on Monday.

He also said files of any of the case related to 1984 massacre was not with the Delhi government but all records and file were with the central government. He asked the prime minister to get the SIT to do “something” or allow the Delhi government to constitute a special investigating team.
"I would urge you to either get your SIT to do something or kindly wind up this SIT and allow Delhi Government to set up an SIT, which will do a proper investigation and get justice for the victims. It's been 32 years and any further delay would only hamper the hope for justice," the Delhi CM said.
