Tejaspreet Kaur received State Merit Certificate Award from the Lieutenant Governor of South Australia at the Government House in Adelaide today.
Tejaspreet recently celebrated as dux of St Aloysius College, Adelaide, after earning a State Merit Award with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.30.
The dux of the school title is given to a student who achieves the highest mark in assessment in the Year 12 program of study.
Tejaspreet’s father Dr Gurpreet Singh told SBS Punjabi that they are incredibly proud of her achievements.
“We are feeling very happy at this proud moment,” said Dr Singh.
“It cannot be better than that! We are blessed with three children and they have all excelled in their chosen fields.After passing her school in flying colours, Tejaspreet Kaur is now looking forward to see an acceptance in a medical degree.

“I always wanted to be in a profession that can bring change to other people’s lives. I am from a medico family and I think I won’t be different from them,” she said in an interview with SBS Punjabi.
“I owe this success to my parents who have provided me with the opportunity for a bright future.
“I would also like to thank my teachers, family members and friends. It was all made possible with their motivation.
Asked for her secret to success, she said it all depends on one’s character and mentality.
“I see hard work and motivation as key elements here, not only during studentship but in all walks of life."
Tejaspreet Kaur’s family moved to Australia in 2008 from a small town of Mullanpur Dakha in Ludhiana district of Punjab.
Her parents Dr Gurpreet Singh and Dr Manpreet Kaur are general practitioners in Adelaide.Dr Singh told SBS Punjabi their family has a passion to work in the medical field.

“Our elder son and daughter are studying medicine and now Tejaspreet is also moving into their footprints."
