While Indian men cleaned off the mighty Aussies in the first T20 match at Adelaide Oval, just hours before the result, the Indian women had accomplished a victory against the Aussie women with a record run chase on the same venue.

Harmanpreet Kaur led the run chase with a patiently built innings of 46, ensuring an easy equation for win before she perished.

Electing to bowl after winning the toss, the Indians did well to restrict Australia to 141.

The Indian women managed to chase down the biggest victory target against the mighty Aussies, who were the odds-on favourite for the match.

While chasing, the Indians were not off to the best start as skipper and experienced batter Mithali Raj, who opened the innings, was dismissed early.

However, the rest of the top-order batsmen did their job well enough with Player-of-the-Match Harmenpreet Kaur standing out with a 31-ball 46. She hit six fours and a six in her innings.

Before this match, their best chase was 128 for 7 against New Zealand in Bangalore in July 2015.
