Vijender Singh is best known as a bronze-medallist Olympian boxer. But, his exploits in the professional circuit are fast earning him the reputation of a 'dreaded-pugilist'.
Vijender ruled himself out of the Rio Olympics last year to kick-start his professional career. The Beijing Olympics bronze medallist pugilist ended his amateur career in June 2015.
Since then, he has been on a role in the professional boxing arena- winning all six bouts he has fought so far.
Vijender thrashed Britain’s Sonny Whiting on his professional debut in England in October last year.

On November 8, 2015, Vijender Singh knocked out Dean Gillen of England in the opening round to register his second consecutive victory at the professional level.
He registered his third consecutive victory against Bulgaria’s Samet Hyuseinov in less than two rounds in Manchester on December 20, 2015.
The boxer from Haryana notched up his fourth successive knockout professional win by pummelling Hungary’s Alexander Horvath in less than three rounds on March 13, 2016.

Vijender’s power-packed punches battered Frenchman Matiouze Royer on May 2, 2016.
Fighting the first eight-round contest of his fledgling pro career, Vijender completed yet another dominating win barely a minute into the third round by defeating Poland’s Andrzej Soldra on May 13, 2016.

Before that bout, Soldra had said: “Friday the 13th is going to be a horror show for India’s golden boy Vijender. It’s about time his lucky streak came to an end and I’m going to be the man who delivers the knockout blow! He’s had it easy up until now, us Polish are a different breed, and he’s going to be in for a shock.”
Vijender Singh is now preparing for his maiden title in the professional circuit when he fights for the WBO Asia belt in front of home fans in New Delhi.
