'ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਾਂ' ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਨਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਪਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ 19 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ [ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ]।
ਫਿਲਮ ਆਲੋਚਕ ਤਰਨ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕੀਤਾ - “ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਗਿੱਪੀ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਦੀ 'ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਾਂ' ਨੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੁਣ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ $710,622 [ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ] ਅਤੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ NZ $ 209,886 [ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ] ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ।"
'ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਾਂ' ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਟਕ ਫਿਲਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਗਿੱਪੀ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਮ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਿੱਪੀ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਣਾ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ‘ਅਰਦਾਸ’ ਫਿਲਮ ਦਾ ਸੀਕੁਅਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਲੋਚਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਐਸ ਬੀ ਐਸ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿੱਪੀ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੇ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਪਾੜੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
“ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਫਿਲਮ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਣਾ-ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਭਰੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ,” ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਇਸ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿੱਪੀ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਘੁੱਗੀ, ਮਲਕੀਤ ਰੌਣੀ, ਜਪੁਜੀ ਖਹਿਰਾ, ਸਪਨਾ ਪੱਬੀ, ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੋਹੀ, ਬੱਬਲ ਰਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਰਗੇ ਨਾਮੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਦੀ ਪਟਕਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਰਚਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਰਾਣਾ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
‘Ardaas Kraan’ is now the highest-grossing Punjabi film in Australia and New Zealand.
The film which explores the pertinent issue of generation gap was released worldwide on July 19 (still running).
The film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted - “Punjabi films are expanding their horizons. Ardaas Karaan, starring Gippy Grewal, creates HISTORY, emerges highest grossing Punjabi film in Australia and NewZealand. Collects A$ 710,622 [still running] in Australia and NZ$ 209,886 [still running] in New Zealand.”
Previously, it created history by becoming the , of this year in Australia and New Zealand.
‘Ardaas Karaan’ is an Indian Punjabi-language social drama film co-written, produced and directed by Gippy Grewal.
It is a sequel to ‘Ardaas,' a film which received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
The ‘inspirational’ movie has also received fairly positive critic reviews and a warm public reception.
In an exclusive interview with SBS Punjabi, Mr Grewal shared that the movie explores the issue of generation gap faced by many families, particularly in Punjabi families who live outside India.
“This is an inspirational movie that aims to celebrate life. No matter what, people can achieve happiness despite their challenging environment,” said Mr Grewal.
“We have been frequently complimented for the previous version of the movie and we sincerely hope to continue the success story with this new storyline.”
Mr Grewal told SBS Punjabi that the movie narrates the story of three elderly men who have to deal with the changing times and their family conflicts, before achieving what they actually wanted in life – ‘the inner happiness’.
“Our team have put a lot of hard work to make this movie. I sincerely hope that people would like the story, cinematography, music and the skills of our acting team,” he said.
The film also features Gurpreet Ghuggi, Japji Khaira, Babbal Rai, Meher Vij and Yograj in lead roles.
'Ardaas Karaan' was released worldwide on 19 July 2019.
