The decision by a Liberal MP to reveal a Chinese-Australian billionaire’s alleged links to a bribery scheme has reignited debate over politicians’ parliamentary privilege. It has also caused a new round of headaches for the Coalition Government, still trying to recover from recent questions over its relationship with China.


After eight months of closed-door diplomacy, SBS News can reveal European Union leaders are to ((Tues)) formally approve free-trade agreement (FTA) negotiations between the EU and Australia as well as New Zealand.  The move paves the way for a multi-billion dollar deal before the United Kingdom leaves the E-U next March (2019).
And David Smith officially begins as new senator for the ACT.
