சுற்றுலாப் பயணி விசா விரைவாகக் கிடைக்க user-pays visa fast-track service எனும் திட்டைத்தை அரசு அறிமுகம் செய்கிறது. இதன்மூலம் இந்தியா, United Arab Emirates போன்ற நாடுகளிலிருந்து வருகின்றவர்கள் பயன் பெறுவர். இதற்காக இவர்கள் அதிக கட்டணம் செலுத்தவேண்டி வரலாம். இதன் மூலம் அரசு எதிர்வரும் நான்கு ஆண்டுகளில் $1.5 million டாலர் வருமானம் ஈட்டும் என்றும், இந்த பயணிகளே விசா முறையை தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் வகையில் நவீன திட்டத்தை அரசு அறிமுகம் செய்வதன்மூலம், அரசுக்கு $180 million டாலர் சேமிக்க முடியும் என்றும் நாட்டின் கருவூலக் காப்பாளர் Treasurer Scott Morrison சற்று முன்னர் நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நிதிநிலை அறிக்கை வழி அறிவித்தார்.
மேலும் இந்தியா, சீனா, தாய்லாந்து, வியட்நாம், சிலே நாடுகளிலிருந்து வரும் பயணிகளில் சிக்கலை ஏற்படுத்தமாட்டார்கள் (low risk nationals) என்று கருதுவோருக்கு மூன்று ஆண்டுகள் எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் வந்துபோகலாம் என்ற விசா வழங்கல் அரசு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
The Government says it will test changes to visa arrangements in key markets in a bid to boost visitor and investor numbers.
These will include a user-pays visa fast-track service for nationals from India and the United Arab Emirates, and a three-year multiple entry visa for low risk nationals from India, Thailand, Vietnam and Chile.
The measure is expected to raise revenue of $1.5 million over four years from 2016-17. Treasurer Scott Morrison says the strategy builds on the 2015-16 MYEFO measure which included a trial of a user-pays visa fast-track service for Chinese nationals.
The Government also says it will save $180 million over three years from the next financial year (2017-18) by improving automation in visa processing, providing self-service options and using more sophisticated assessment capabilities.
