As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the Indian Arts Academy has invited Singabahu Sivakumar, a traditional Tamil martial arts teacher and performer came to Melbourne in 2019 to perform and to teach his skills to some Australian students. Kulasegaram Sanchayan talked to him about the plight of this traditional art from that has a very long history then.
