Australian Government opens scholarships for students from these countries

The scholarship presents an opportunity for students to complete a Master’s qualification in Australia and provides benefits including full tuition fees; return air travel; establishment allowance; health insurance; and contribution to living expenses.

The fresh round of Australian Awards is open to students from Pakistan and other South and West Asian countries.

Sponsored by the Australian government, these awards offer fellowships and scholarships to the next generation of global leaders to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia.

In Pakistan, Australia’s international development assistance promotes economic growth; poverty reduction; women empowerment; good governance; and stability.

The scholarship presents an opportunity for Pakistani students to complete a Master’s qualification in Australia.

Some of the other benefits include full tuition fees; return air travel; establishment allowance; health insurance; and contribution to living expenses.

Candidates are expected to suit the following profiles: Public Policy Practitioners; Public Policy Reformers and Leaders; Civil Society and Development Practitioners; Private Sector Reformers and Promoters of Pro-poor Growth.

To be eligible, candidates must fulfil certain conditions including residing in Pakistan for at least two years and holding the country’s citizenship; have completed 16 years of education; not be above 45 years of age at the time of submitting the application.

The deadline for application is 30th April 2017 (for study commencing in 2018), and all the students who are selected must return to Pakistan for at least two years.

The scholarship is also open for students from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
