Australia is one of the prime locations in the world where international students come to study short term courses, bachelor programs and research degrees.

While many students aim for scholarships, others pay the tuition fees along with the accommodation and daily expenses.

The universities in Australia assist students through different types of scholarships, one of them being the ‘family scholarship’.

Family Scholarship

According to the Griffith University , a family scholarship is for an immediate family member of the international student including a sibling, parent or child. It could be a current Griffith student or an alumnus.

“Griffith International offers a $1,000 contribution towards the first trimester of tuition fees to immediate family members of current Griffith students and alumni.”

Other universities are also offering family scholarships with different perks for the student families.

The University of Adelaide offers a 25% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholar's chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

According to their , few terms and conditions apply to acquire the family scholarship.
“The University of Adelaide offers the Family Scholarship (International) to commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate students who are either spouse or immediate family of an existing University of Adelaide student or alumnus.”
When to apply?

The universities state that whilst these scholarships are available throughout the year, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible so they have sufficient time for visa and study preparations.
