Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the second royalties deal struck with Indian mining giant Adani will ensure the state receives every cent it's owed.
Adani late on Tuesday accepted the Labor government's royalties deal for its $16 billion Carmichael coal mine in the Galilee Basin, although the details won't be released due to commercial-in-confidence.
Ms Palaszczuk has welcomed the agreement following nearly a fortnight of factional fighting within her government after her original "royalties holiday" deal caused a cabinet backlash.
"We will get paid everything we are owed, and any deferred royalties will be paid in full and with interest ," the premier told reporters on Wednesday.
"We have set out those principles very clearly, and that is how the agreement has been reached."
Adani's board will now meet to make a final decision on the deal, which is expected to be passed.
It comes a week after Ms Palaszczuk backflipped on the original deal she struck with Adani because of the divisions inside her government, which led to a snap cabinet meeting on Friday.
Ministers unanimously agreed the company should not be given concessions restricting royalties to just $2 million annually for the first seven years of the mine's operation.
It could have cost Queensland taxpayers up to $320 million.
"The royalties arrangement means the project is back on track to generate 10,000 direct and indirect jobs in regional Queensland," Adani said in a statement on Tuesday night.
"This shows a strong commitment by the state government to the project and is a benchmark decision to take this project forward."
Shadow Treasurer Scott Emerson said he believed there were still internal divisions within Labor over the deal.
"They're still going hammer-and-tongs between Annastacia Palaszczuk and (Deputy Premier) Jackie Trad, between the Left and the Right (factions), no matter what secret deal they've done with Adani, that we know is the case," Mr Emerson said.
For her part, Ms Trad welcomed Adani accepting the government's royalties offer.
She dismissed reports the Greens will target her South Brisbane seat over the issue.
"I refute the suggestion that the interests of people in South Brisbane are any different to the interests of people across the state," she said.
