Aussies over being called racist: Hanson

Australians are tired of being called racist, Pauline Hanson says, while denying she's stoking racism for another tilt at politics.

Pauline Hanson denies her policy platforms are like Donald Trump's and say they are not racist.

The One Nation founder, who's vying for a Queensland Senate spot believes her anti-Islam rhetoric points to fact.

"Australians are so over being labelled as racist," she told Sky News on Wednesday.

Ms Hanson argues Islam is not compatible with the Australian way of life and laws and people are "rightfully" concerned about it.

She denied that demonising Muslims in the west could empower Islamic State recruitment.

"I'm not going to back away from my beliefs," she said.

When asked whether her ideas were similar to the anti-immigration stance taken up by the presumptive Republican nominee, she said: "That's Donald Trump, I have not put that in my policies."
