Malaysian race officials are angry at nine Australians who stripped down to swimwear after Aussie Daniel Ricciardo won the Sepang Formula 1 Grand Prix.

They deserve to be locked up, a race official says.

The nine men bared swimwear, also known as 'budgy smugglers' in Australia, sporting the Malaysia flag after Australian Daniel Ricciardo took out the Sepang Formula 1 Grand Prix.

"This shows a huge lack of respect to us as Malaysians; this is stupid behaviour from foreigners who have no sense of cultural sensitivity and respect," Sepang International Circuit chief Datuk Razlan Razali told the New Straits Times.

Last year Mr Walker posted a photo of a pair of briefs to Instagram, along with the caption "game day attire #wallabies #budgysmuggler".
