Australian captain Meg Lanning believes the addition of a first day-night women's Test will top off the biggest year yet for Australian women's cricket.
The match against England at North Sydney Oval scheduled from November 9-12 will form part of a seven-match, multi-format Ashes series starting in October.
"It's a great opportunity to be involved in something new and we've seen it with the men's game and it's been a real success," champion batter Lanning said in Sydney on Tuesday.
"It's something that we're all going to be looking forward to.
"Test matches we don't play a lot of and for it to be a day-night pink ball Test is extra special."
The Test will be sandwiched between three ODIs and three T20 games.
A win in the Test will be worth four points, double the amount for a victory in any game of the other two formats.
Australia reclaimed the trophy two years ago by winning for the first time on English soil since 2001.
The day-night Test and rest of the Ashes series will end a memorable and packed season for Australia's female cricketers.
The WBBL went from strength-to-strength in its second season and the Southern Stars hosted ODIs against South Africa and T20 matches versus New Zealand and also played a limited overs series in New Zealand.
They will defend their ODI Wold Cup in England in June and July before returning home for the Ashes series.
Lanning felt the schedule added up to the biggest year for Australia's female cricketers.
"Fifty over World Cups don't come around as often as the T20s so we're looking forward to the challenge of that," Lanning said.
"It's going to be a great tournament I think which is great for the game and then the Ashes are quickly after that .
"So it's certainly a massive winter and summer coming up and it's exciting times to be involved in women's cricket."
