Stigma attached to mental health and suicide prevention will be the focus of initial hearings by Victoria's royal commission into the sector.
Hearings throughout July in Melbourne will explore multiple facets of mental health services, including access and navigation, prevention and early intervention, the role of carers and families and the barriers faced by culturally and linguistically-diverse communities.
"The themes for each day of our hearings will help us explore these important issues in much greater detail and will be critical to inform the next phase of our work," Commission Chairwoman Penny Armytage said in a statement on Monday.
