A former Catholic priest has appeared in a Melbourne court charged with child sex offences dating back more than a decade.
Paul Chris Pavlou, 57, briefly faced the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with four counts of sexual penetration of a child under 16 and four counts of indecent act with a child under 16, over alleged offending in Melbourne's east and regional Victoria in 2003 and 2004.
He is on bail and due to appear again on December 14.
