Gunman's girlfriend 'was sent away' from US before Las Vegas massacre, her sisters say

The two sisters of the Las Vegas gunman’s girlfriend say Marilou Danley was sent to the Philippines by her partner two weeks before the massacre.

Marilou Danley's two sisters have spoken to  for the first time since the mass shooting that killed at least 59 people in Las Vegas.

The pair claim Ms Danley did not know anything about boyfriend Stephen Paddock’s plan to open fire on thousands of people at a country music event on the Vegas Strip.

"And I know that she [didn't] know anything as well like us. She was sent away. She was away so that she will be not there to interfere with what he’s planning," one sister said.

Earlier on Tuesday night local time, Ms Danley, 62, arrived back in the United States with authorities hoping she holds the key to the puzzling motive for the shooting attack.

The attack which killed 59 is the worst mass shooting in US modern history.
Ms Danley’s sisters claim Paddock purchased her a flight to the Philippines two weeks before the senseless attack.

"She didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines until Steve said, 'Marilou I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines',” one of the sisters claimed.
The sisters were thankful Ms Danley was sent away before the attack.

“In that sense I thank him for sparing my sister's life. But that won't be to compensate the 59 people's lives.”

Both felt Ms Danley had answers that could help police with their investigation.

"No one can put the puzzles together. No one except Marilou because Steve is not here to talk anymore. Only Marilou can maybe help,' a sister said.

"To be able to find out the person you love and live with can do such things and you thought you know the person yourself."

They said their sister was "a good person and a gentle soul" and she would be haunted forever by what Paddock had done.

"He did this solely himself," her sibling said.
