Horse dies in SA jumps fall: RSPCA

The RSPCA says another horse has died after a jumps racing fall in Adelaide.

A horse has died after falling in a jumps race in Adelaide, the RSPCA says.

Continuing its call for jumps racing to be stopped, the animal welfare group says nine-year-old gelding About The Journey fell during a 3500-metre event at Morphettville last weekend.

It says the horse was pronounced dead at the scene by a vet as a result of a suspected ruptured aorta and is the third jumps racing death in SA in the past 18 months.
