The Tasmanian Senator is expected to announce her formal split from the party on Monday, almost a full fortnight after falling out with party leader Clive Palmer.
Senator Lambie has been seeking legal advice in regards to her future, though confirmed that she was still a party member as of Sunday.
Her comments came ahead of the latest attack by Mr Palmer, who told Channel Seven’s Sunrise program that she was “making things up”.
The party leader made a number of personal attacks on Senator Lambie over previous days, criticising her for early controversial comments to a radio station and that she had to answer questions about when she was receiving a disability pension.
“I think she thinks she's bigger than Australia,” he said.
Mr Palmer has also accused Senator Lambie of infiltrating the party on behalf of the major parties, telling ABC radio that she had “been sent in there by someone to cause trouble”.
His party had a team investigating her, he said.
Senator Lambie, who has denied there are any problems with payments she received, is due to make a final decision after meeting her legal advisor in Canberra on Monday.
"When you have somebody very powerful that has a lot of money you have to cover all your bases and make sure that if they're going to come at you for whatever reason that you have everything covered," Senator Lambie said.
"I have to look after the best interests of Tasmanians and make sure that everything's covered."
