Marriage equality might be a central issue but it won't mean a ban of the prime minister from Mardi Gras, says its chief executive.
Despite calls for Malcolm Turnbull to be banned from the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras events, over his support of a plebiscite on marriage equality, he is welcome to attend the glittery event, Mardi Gras chief executive Terese Casu said at the official program unveiling on Friday.
"Malcolm Turnbull gets an invite to every Mardi Gras party on that strip. So Malcolm, I have no doubt, will be at the Mardi Gras party," Ms Casu said.
