Ms Hanson has edged ahead of the Greens and coalition on the primary vote.

Before she entered the electoral commission offices, Ms Hanson was warmly greeted by workers at Riverwood Business Park, with one holding a sign saying "Hanson 4 PM".

"Give them curry, darl," he told her.

Ms Hanson stood as an independent candidate at the March 26 election, having severed formal links with One Nation, the party she co-founded.

She moved from Queensland to the mid-north coast last year and announced in early March she intended to run for an upper house seat.
