Keen-eyed Sydney residents have snapped photos of a police horse and its rider stopping by a Bondi pub.
A mounted policeman rode his horse straight up to the bar during Sunday lunch service at the Beach Road Hotel.
Several photos were posted to social showing the horse enjoying a Sunday session while on its lunch break.
Freelance journalist Jonno Seidler was driving past the hotel with his girlfriend when he snapped the photo, which was later shared by his friend Patrick Stevenson.
"I was driving back from lunch with my girlfriend and just saw it in motion," Mr Seidler told SBS News.
"I was definitely surprised - it was the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long line of ridiculous line of things that have happened post lockout laws.
"Have I ever seen a horse enter a bar? Not outside a comedy skit.
"I couldn't tell if the horse was spooked. I just couldn't fathom what kind of situation you'd need to be in where you'd need to bring a horse into a bar."
A staff member at the pub told SBS News the photos were staged and the policemen was having some fun.
A NSW Police spokesman said: "Mounted unit officers patrolling the Bondi area were invited in by the manager of the establishment for a NEIGH-bourly chat".
Mounted police are regularly seen patrolling around Bondi and are considered highly effective due to the mobility and elevation of the officers riding them.
