Actress Rose McGowan, one of the first women to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein, has issued a three-word message to the disgraced film producer, following his arrest.
"We got you."
In an interview shortly after Weinstein was charged with rape and committing a criminal sexual act, Ms McGowan was asked by NBC's Megyn Kelly, "What would you say to him if he were watching this today?"
“We got you, we got you."
Those three words were repeated in a tweet shortly after Weinstein surrendered to New York authorities and was led into a courtroom in handcuffs.
Ms McGowan was one of the major forces behind the tidal wave of allegations against Weinstein that eventually led to the #MeToo movement.
Other accusers expressed relief, including actress Mira Sorvino who said she is overwhelmed with emotions.
While actress Annabella Sciorra, who accused Weinstein of rape, tweeted ahead of the arrest, following reports he was expected to turn himself in.
“Anyone know where I can get front row seats?!” Ms Sciorra wrote.
Time's Up, a movement founded by Hollywood celebrities that aims to hold abusers accountable also took to social media with a statement saying they looked forward to seeing 'justice prevail.'
