A slice of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding cake could cost up to $2000 US at an auction next month.
The single slice of royal wedding cake, inside an inscribed tin, is estimated to be worth at least $1000 US.
The fruit-filled wedding cake from 2011 will be sold wrapped in white paper in a decorative box.
The buyer will also receive a blank invitation from the event.
The expensive cake slice and invitation will be on sale at the Californian auction, with five of Diana, Princess of Wales’ dresses.
A single ivory-coloured silk dress is worth between $80,000 and $100,000, the auction house, Julien’s Auctions, said on their website.
Princess Diana was killed in a crash in France in 1997.
Since then, the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William has boosted interest in the United Kingdom’s royal family.
Princess Diana died 17 years ago but still captures sizable public attention, according to Martin Nolan of Julien's Auctions.
"She is highly collectible, people want to own something from her life, still," Mr Nolan told AFP.
