Sniffer dog to target cane toads

In Western Australia, a new detector dog is being specially trained to sniff out cane toads to boost the state's fight against the invasive species.

In Western Australia, a new detector dog is being specially trained to sniff out cane toads to boost the state's fight against the invasive species.

Reggie, a springer spaniel, is just a few weeks away from detecting cane toads on the border of WA and the Northern Territory.

Corrin Everitt is from the WA Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Ms Everitt spoke to WA correspondent Ryan Emery about why Reggie is ideal for cane toad detection.
