South Australia and Victoria will receive $100 million in the federal budget to help businesses develop after car giant Holden stops manufacturing in Australia.
Industry Minister Arthur Sinodinos says the funding will include money to establish innovation labs in the two states, that can facilitate smaller-scale research projects.
He told FiveAA radio on Monday he thinks the support, in collaboration with efforts from the automotive industry itself, means that companies that would otherwise have closed will not.
