Teenager hurt in Victoria jail fight returned to prison

A teenager injured during a fight at the Malmsbury youth justice centre on Friday has been returned to the facility after hospital treatment.

A teen inmate rushed to hospital after being bashed at Victoria's Malmsbury youth justice centre has been returned to the facility.

Police attended the centre on Friday night after what's believed to be a fight between a number of detainees.

A 17-year-old boy was reportedly stomped on during the altercation and was found unconscious.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A government spokesman said the youth was released from hospital and returned to the facility on Saturday morning.
