A mural of comedian Celeste Barber, who has spearheaded a nearly $50 million crowdfunding campaign for bushfire relief, has emerged in Melbourne.
The mural - accompanied by a “thank you” message - is located in the Melbourne CBD’s Hosier Lane, a laneway famous for its street art.
More than half a million people from across the globe have given money to Barber’s Facebook campaign.
On Friday morning, the total amount of funds raised sat at $49.2 million dollars.
The money will be donated to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS), according to the campaign's Facebook page.

"The NSW RFS is focused on the ongoing bush fire emergency that continues to affect communities across NSW. We are continuing work to slow the spread of fires, establish containment lines, conduct building impact assessments and return residents to their communities as soon as possible," a spokesperson said.
"It's important that our members, who know what's best for their brigades and communities, have a say in the use of donated funds."
"Once the bush fire emergency eases, the NSW RFS will work with senior volunteers and brigades to ensure donated funds are used for the greatest benefit of our members and their communities."
The mural of Barber is not first bushfire crisis-related piece of street art to have been painted on Australian streets.
A display of Prime Minister Scott Morrison in Hawaiian garb with flames around him popped up on an inner-Sydney wall in December.
