Former prime minister Tony Abbott has bought a second-hand fridge on Gumtree and sealed the deal in the traditional way - taking a selfie with the seller.
Sydney woman Emily Hannigan and her husband Emmanuel listed the fridge for sale on the poular website and were contacted by a woman called Margie, who arranged to buy the appliance for $300.
It was not until Margie arrived with her husband to pick up the fridge that Ms Hannigan realised the former prime minister of Australia was the proud new owner of her fridge.
"She was really down-to-earth but they were both definitely in a bit of a hurry," she told .
"Plus I’m pretty sure there were some security outside.
"It was just a regular kitchen fridge, singular-top freezer, and I think it was 320 litres. Margie said she thought the fridge would come in handy come Christmastime.
“Tony was just a regular dude in a baseball cap.”
