* The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's third baby, a boy, was born at 11.01am on Monday April 23
* The baby was born at the private Lindo wing at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London where Catherine previously had two straightforward deliveries
* The new baby is a brother to four-year-old Prince George, who was born on July 22, 2013, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte, who was born on May, 2, 2015

* The baby is the Queen's sixth great-grandchild and fifth in line to the British throne, bumping uncle Prince Harry down to sixth spot
* In terms of titles, the baby will be His Royal Highness, a Prince of Cambridge
* The bookies are banking on William and Catherine again opting for a traditional name with Arthur, James, Philip or Albert all good bets for a boy
* When George was born, Australia sent a soft cuddly bilby toy and a copy of beloved Australian author Mem Fox's picture book Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes as part of a gift pack selected by then prime minister Kevin Rudd
* An enclosure at Sydney's Taronga Zoo was also named after the young prince, with a $10,000 grant for the zoo's project to preserve bilbies also made in his honour
* Charlotte received a hand-embroidered Tasmanian merino wool blanket decorated with wattle, with a $10,000 donation made to a possum sanctuary in Victoria
* George was just eight months old when he visited Australia with his parents in April, 2014
* Prince William also visited Australia as a nine-month-old baby, joining his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales and his father Prince Charles on a tour in 1983.
