The Uyghur community in Australia has condemned Australia and international governments for failing to intervene in Thailand's deportation of over 40 Uyghurs to China.
The group, which has been held for a decade in a Bangkok detention centre, were taken back to China's XInjiang.
Ramila Chanisheff is the President of Australian Uyghur Tangritagh Women's Association. She says the news has upset many from the Uyghur Australian community.
She says her community has been lobbying the Australian government for resettling the detained group of Uyghurs in Thailand, criticising the government for not acting on the issue.
"I have no words! We've talked to the previous government, we've talked to the current government, we said that over 100 people have been sent back, we don't know their situation, we only got 48 people there, and they could have taken a step, they could have taken action to secure these people, resettle them in Australia, or elsewhere around the world to ensure their safety. What more can I say when this has happened?"
SBS News has reached out to Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong for comment.
The United Nations has condemned the deportation, with a 2022 report finding China's treatment of Uyghurs in Xinjiang may constitute crimes against humanity.

Pressure on the Opposition leader Peter Dutton is mounting, after he was found to have invested in several banks shortly before a massive bailout during the global financial crisis.
Mr Dutton has denied he accessed any sensitive information to assist his investment decision.
He also defends his $30 million worth of property investment, claiming he's been successful in business.
Labor MP and assistant minister for manufacturing Tim Ayres says the public are entitled to know the details of Mr Dutton's investment, especially the ones made during the global financial crisis.
"There are times when the country needs the government and the parliament of Australia to be focused on the interest of ordinary Australians, and at that moment in time, Peter Dutton, as he said in the interview, very astutely, he said, was focusing on his own financial interest."

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a $25 million funding package for a solar power initiative in New South Wales.
It aims to provide co-funding to residential owners, corporations and strata managers to install shared rooftop solar systems.
Mr Albanese says the initiative will help reduce energy bills for New South Wales households.
"It adds to the swift measures that we have introduced as a government since 2022, a swift measure of which the biggest highlight at the big picture is we have approved enough renewable energy projects to power eight million homes in Australia."

Canada's privacy watchdog has opened an investigation into social media platform X, on whether its use of Canadians' personal data to train artificial intelligence models broke privacy rules.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada said in a statement on Thursday that it launched the probe after receiving a complaint, without providing further details.
X did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The investigation into X, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, comes at a time of increased tension between Canada and the United States over trade, border security and a digital services tax on US technology firms.

Now in sport,
Fans of AFL team Port Adelaide may be disappointed, as the team's vice-captain Zak Butters will be absent for at least six weeks, due to his knee surgery.
Mr Butters had an arthroscopy on his knee, which the club says is likely the result of a heavy knock to the knee.
Following the surgery, the two-time winner of the best-and-fairest awards is expected to rest for six to eight weeks.
The Power's premiership season will start with a match against Collingwood at the MCG on March 15.
