Why this little box is looking for a trans-Tasman football match

A razor box carried by an Australian soldier at Gallipoli has been unearthed as a treasure of Australian football. In 1923 it formed the centrepiece of a specially created wooden trophy carved out of New Zealand honeysuckle and Australian maple, created to mark the first match between the two countries on Australian soil. But instead of becoming football's version of cricket's Ashes, the trophy went missing in 1954 and has only come to light this year. The razor box originally belonged to Private William Fisher who was the Queensland Football Association Secretary.
