Big banks grilled over profits at parliamentary inquiry

The head of the Commonwealth Bank has challenged claims its record profits have been earned to the detriment of its customers. The chief executives of C-B-A and Westpac have fronted a parliamentary inquiry in Canberra. On the first day of hearings, both were grilled on interest rates, scams, and supporting vulnerable customers, as cost of living pressures continue to mount.
