COP28's landmark Fossil Fuels deal in jeopardy

Efforts at the COP28 summit to secure a landmark deal to “phase out” fossil fuels are in trouble. The latest draft agreement uses weaker language, referring only to a ‘reduction.’ It’s led to criticism, particularly from Pacific states and climate activists, and could see the summit running past its scheduled end time.
