Fire destroys historic church in California

The historic San Gabriel Mission, founded by Spanish missionary Junipero Serra, was heavily damaged by an overnight fire. The 249-year-old adobe church, which was undergoing renovations, is one of California's most historic landmarks and was still functioning as both a Roman Catholic church and a museum. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
