Five youths charged after Wakeley church stabbing
Published 25 April 2024, 10:16 am
Five youths have faced court on a range of terrorism offences, in the wake of the stabbing of a bishop at a church in Sydney's southwest last week. Three of the boys didn't apply for bail and remain behind bars; a 14-year-old had his bail application stayed, pending an appeal; and the other's application is still to be heard. But, as major counter terrorism raids took place across the city on Wednesday, Muslim leaders say they should've been informed ahead of the operation - during a time where they have been asked to help calm community anxiety.
